Science Matters Class Offerings for the 2026-27 School Year

Science Mash-Up: Get ready for a thrilling mix of science, creativity, and mind-blowing discoveries! Each week, we’ll dive into a new world of fun—stretch and squish buttery soft slime, explore the forces of physics (can we defy gravity?), discover the weird world of mysterious microbes, and design a mechanical oscilloscope to project mesmerizing light patterns with your voice. Whether you love to create, experiment, or just be amazed, there’s something exciting waiting for you every week!

Art with a Twist: Join us for an exciting blend of creativity and discovery! In this club, we’ll combine the world of art with the wonders of science. From brushes to circuits to nature, you’ll explore innovative ways to create art. Build your very own spin art machine, experiment with fizzing paint, craft vibrant masterpieces using natural pigments, and trick your brain with unbelievable optical illusions. Whether you’re a budding artist or a future scientist, this club has something for everyone!

Freaky Physics: Get ready to freak out with physics as you examine forces, see how physics and engineering are related as you compete in a tower building challenge, create a circuit to power a cool motorized “bristle-bot”, and explore the marvels of magnetism.

Hocus Pocus: Amaze and astound your friends with some awesome science magic! Master the art of illusion and discover the scientific secrets behind these tricks. Use your newfound skills to make an egg sink or float on command, use the power of inertia to perform amazing tricks, make a liquid disappear, suspend water in mid-air, and shock your family and friends when you cut a hole in a piece of copy paper big enough to step through.

Secret Agent Academy: Dive into the world of espionage, decoding secret messages, testing spy gadgets and revealing invisible messages! You’ll master the art of communication using a special code breaker to decode and create messages just like real-life spies. Plus, make a device to spy on your surroundings undetected. Get ready for a thrilling, hands-on adventure in the world of science and secrecy!

Maker Space: Take your place in our new “Science Matters Maker Space”, a dynamic, hands-on learning environment designed to foster creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration. Explore, tinker, and build with a variety of materials. Test your skills in the eggdrop challenge. Design a skatepark and an amusement park ride.

Slime Squad: Welcome to Slime Squad—where the fun never stops, and the slime never dries! Get ready to squish, stretch, and glow with the coolest, gooiest creations around. Sink your hands into the soft, moldable magic of sand slime, watch your masterpieces light up the dark with luminescent slime, and blow epic bubbles with bouncy soft bubble slime (just don’t actually chew it!). Whether you’re here to experiment, create, or just make a glorious mess, our club is the ultimate slime-lover’s paradise.
